Go Racing Magazine goes Head to Head with People You Should Know
Interview with Stars co-founder and CART/IRL/ALMS Racer Bryan Herta
"I did the [Skip Barber] school program and did their school series and that went really well. Then I moved into the pro series that was a school series, which was like Formula Fords. Then I moved into the pro series, I did that for a couple of seasons, I won that championship. I moved into Indy Lights and did that for two years, won that championship and it was in 1994 then AJ Foyt first hired me to drive for him at the Indianapolis 500 in 1994. That was my first Indycar race. At the time I was nervous about it."

After the Beach with Joey Hand
"Karting has played a huge role in becoming a professional racecar driver. When you are young racing karts, all you think about is making it to the top and driving racecars at some of the coolest racetracks in the world, and getting paid for it. Without karting, I would not be getting paid to drive racecars. Today, I still use karting for exercise and to stay sharp, on top of just starting a new kart shop entitled Kartel Motorsports. I love karting and will be part of the karting world for the rest of my life."

Profile: Joe Ramos and SSC
"As they built that kart somebody wanted to buy it, they started building another and somebody wanted to buy that one and then we realized there might be a market for a turn key ready to go shifter kart at the time. Jim Boltz, the owner of the company and SSC called me at that time. I was doing some consulting work for other motorsport companies that I used to work for which was Yamaha Motor Company and Bombardier. My areas were in distribution primarily and in marketing and so Jim says what do you know about karting? Nothing. I said I know they exist and I know that they are kind of a cousin to the motorsport industry I said but outside of that I really don’t know much about it."

Long Way Home: Karting's Pat Long, Living the Dream
"Region 7 when I raced it from 1990-1997 was probably the most competitive racing. IKF was the place to be and the best show in town. It was pretty cool running with some of those kids and seeing them still today. Some still karting and others like Buddy Rice at the top of the food chain. Those are the days that no one can take away."
